Как обучать детей с ASD английскому эффективно и с радостью

У большинства детей с ASD есть как минимум одна тема, в которой они готовы жить 24 часа в сутки.

Dinosaurs, trains, cars, Pokémon, Roblox, space, Frozen, Paw Patrol — everyone has their own.

And that very interest becomes the fastest and most joyful way to learn English.

Why This Works

When a child hears English only within their favorite topic — they don't stress, don't fear making mistakes, and don't get tired. They just live in their world, and the language naturally "sticks."

What Happens in Practice

A five-year-old boy used to not speak at all. But he knew every dinosaur.

A native English speaker started playing with him only about dinosaurs:

"Look! T-Rex is hungry!"

"Give him meat, please."

"Wow, Triceratops has three horns!"

After a couple of months, the child was shouting: "More dinosaurs! T-Rex roars loud!"

A six-year-old girl used to run away from any lesson after three minutes.

She absolutely loves Elsa.

A native speaker started all lessons only as Elsa and only in English.

Now the girl asks: "Elsa, again! Let it go!"

A seven-year-old boy lives only for cars.

A native speaker plays racing and garage repair with him:

"Red car is super fast!"

"We need gas. Fill it up!"

"Turn left… yes! Good job!"

The child who used to be silent now commands in English all day long.

Simple Rules That Work

  1. Find out the child's current "passion topic" (it can change every couple of months).
  2. All communication in the lesson — only this topic and only in English.
    No Russian words, no distractions.
  3. The native speaker talks slowly, clearly, with emotions, and repeats the same phrases many times — this doesn't bore the child, it calms them.
  4. At first, the child may just watch and point.
Then they start repeating individual words.
Then whole phrases. Everything happens naturally, without pressure.
  5. As soon as the child confidently speaks about their topic — these same words very quickly start appearing in everyday life too.

The Key: Don't Pull the Child into English

Bring English right into their favorite world.

Then they don't learn "because they have to."

They just live in joy — and suddenly realize they're already speaking English.

And they smile while doing it.
